How to change your wastegate spring
A had aquired a tial wastegate for some time now. It came with a 3.6 psi spring, this was not my desired boost level but i had to work with it until i could get a boost controller. I have medeled with some manual boost controller but none have given me satisfactory results and i have not aquired sufficeint funds to get an electronic one i decided the next best thing to do would be to change the wastegate spring. I will be documenting this here for those who want to do the same and need some guidance.
Its a pretty simple process. Whole thing took about 10-15 minutes once the wastegate was removed from the manifold.
First the tool u will need it an allen key to pull the screws that hold the wastegate togather. In my case however i used a tool that fits in a socket that allows you to use a socket driver or a small rachet handle.
now on to things
1. Remove the screws that hold the top of the wastegate
Once the top is removed it should look like this
Removed the old spring and replace it with the new one
Then just replace the cover and tighten the screws and thats it.
Now you have to force it down in order to replace the screws so ensure that the holes line up and then replace the screws and tighten
