After a month or two of driving the Tercel I noticed a leak underneath the car and started smelling gasoline. Upon closer investigation I realized my gas tank was leaking. Rust and snow was something that I did not have to deal with in the Caribbean before but it seems that rust had gotten the better of the fuel tank. So I started my research for a new tank and ended up on rockauto.com where I was able to order a replacement tank for a reasonable price. Did some research on internet and realized it wasn't too big off a job and so I decided to tackle it on my own since the local garages were charging an arm and a leg. With the help of YouTube and a few articles I found on the internet I was able to successfully replace the tank with no issues.

Were their any differences with the stock gas tank versus the new one?

Very little and the differences didn't really affect the fit up or operation.
